October Newsletter

OCTOBER Where did September go! We have had such a busy and fun first month of school. We are doing a great job at being respectful, being kind and being responsible. We are working on sharing with our friends and pushing in our chairs all the time so we keep our classroom safe! In Language, we have been reading lots of books and making lots of connections. We will be learning how to visualize soon (ex. I will read a book and they will have to imagine in their head what I am reading about). We have started our daily 5 centres: word work, listen to reading, work on writing, read to self and read to someone. These centres will allow your child to practice high-frequency words and build stamina and independence when reading. Please have your child read for 10-15 minutes a night. In Math, we are finishing up single-digit addition and moving onto single-digit subtraction. We have loved doing math scoots, domino addition, dice addition and collaborating with each ot
